The CDE-170 can play back FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) files via USB, for a more accurate listening experience.

The Alpine CDE-170 offers Android AOA (Android Open Accessory) 2.0 when used with a compatible Android™ smartphone through a USB connection. The AOA connection provides better music and sound control compared to basic Bluetooth® audio streaming.

Bass Engine SQ tuning changes bass sound characteristics by automatically adjusting different combinations of EQ, Sub Level, and Crossover settings through the choice of five bass profiles (Standard, Punch, Rich, Mid Bass, Low Bass). Use the convenient Bass button on the front panel to choose the setting you prefer.

With a dedicated USB input and USB cable, you can connect USB memory devices like thumb drives. Song lists on USB devices are displayed in alphabetical order and allow eight levels of file/folder search capabilities. This unit will find music files while ignoring other file types on the USB device. Note: MP3 device or cell phone cannot be independently controlled through the head unit.

The CDE-170 can display the song name, artist name, and radio station name if this data is broadcasted by the radio station.

Select from 10 different EQ modes to get the best sound from all your sources (Flat/Pops/Rock/News/Jazz/Elec Dance/Hip Hop/Easy Lis/Country/Classical). If the Equalizer presets aren’t enough for your listening taste, there’s a 3-Band Parametric Equalizer you can adjust and save as a user preset for a better sound response curve. The setting – Bass, Mid, and Treble- can be adjusted in the 3-Band Parametric mode.
